Old Country Store to Host Second Annual Casey Jones Village Festival Oct. 14
Jackson, Tennessee — (August 17, 2023) — From local artisans displaying their crafts to free family entertainment and games, there will be something for everyone at the Second Annual Casey Jones Village Festival from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023, at The Farm, located just behind Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store. The festival has become an anchor event on The Old Country Store’s full calendar of diverse events to serve Guests.
Reflecting on the 2022 inaugural festival, Old Country Store General Manager Brooks Shaw said, “Despite July’s heat last year, we saw an impressive turnout of nearly 1,000 guests. With added attractions and the celebration now being held in October with cooler temps, we’re looking forward to an even bigger community celebration! We look forward to hosting Guests who come from next door and around the region to enjoy everything Casey Jones Village offers.”
Those interested in being a vendor during the festival may contact Roxanne Lyons at 731-693-4290 or at rlyonsocs@gmail.com. Vendor booth spaces are available to showcase crafts and specialty products, as Guests walk through The Farm. Area businesses can connect with the community by joining others in sponsorships that begin at $500. Questions about sponsorships may be sent to Roxanne. Admission to the festival is free.
“A visit to the festival isn't just about the activities; it’s an invitation to bond, form new friendships and explore the different facets of the village — The Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum, The Farm, Art in the Village Gallery, and of course, The Old Country Store,” Shaw said.
Open daily year-round (except for Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and December 26th), Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store includes the restaurant, Miss Anne’s Ice Cream Shoppe, Miss Juanita’s Gift Shop and the Dixie Café Takeout or Dine-In at 56 Casey Jones Lane in Jackson, Tennessee. The Old Country Store will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025.
